Depaul UK celebrates Volunteering Week
This National Volunteering Week (1-7 June) Depaul UK is celebrating and thanking our volunteers for the wonderful contribution they make to our work.
Volunteers make a massive difference to Depaul UK in a multitude of ways whether offering their spare room overnight to a young person facing a housing crisis, helping to refurbish our housing projects, running workshops where young people can learn independent living skills such as cooking or mentoring young people to help them fulfil their potential.
In 2011 Depaul UK volunteers working throughout the South East, North West and North East gave over 23,982 hours of their time.
David, a volunteer mentor says of his experience "I've lived a very lucky life in many ways and whilst I had always given money to charity, I had very rarely given my time, and wanted to do something that would make a difference on a more personal level.”
We are always delighted to hear from people who would like to volunteer their time and talents. Click here to view our current opportunities.
