Depaul UK chosen as partner of BBC Outreach

Depaul UK is delighted to announce that it has been chosen by BBC Outreach to be its partner charity for the next 18 months. Across the regions volunteer staff from the BBC will be working with local Depaul UK projects to provide training and mentoring to young people and staff. Young people will learn how to work creatively with a range of media, including online and audio, whilst Depaul staff will be able to access a range of support from BBC staff to help them develop their professional skills.
Paul Marriott, Chief Executive of Depaul UK said, "This is excellent news and we are delighted to have been chosen as the BBC's Outreach partner. New media is an area that excites many of the young people we work with and the partnership with the BBC will offer them the opportunity to develop this interest, learn new skills and explore this area as a possible career path. BBC staff are renowned for their expertise, so for Depaul UK as an organisation and our clients to benefit from their help and support really is a tremendous boost."
Paul Corcoran, Manager of BBC Outreach, said, "BBC Outreach enables our staff to go out into the world beyond the BBC and help organisations, community groups and individuals to get the best out of new media and technology. We were very impressed with the work Depaul UK does helping vulnerable and disadvantaged young people transform their lives. We are therefore very excited about the partnership and the opportunity it brings for us to engage and connect with the young people Depaul works with and support the skills of its staff.
